The Nikkor 18.5mm f/1.8 is a fascinating lens that captures remarkable images in low-light settings and produces beautiful blurred backgrounds. Its fixed focal length mimics what the natural eye sees.
Its optical construction consist of eight elements in six groups, including one aspherical element. The apsherical element utilizes non-spherical surfaces on either one or both sides of the glass in order to eliminate certain types of lens aberrations.
