Canon RF Lens
Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM Full-Frame Lens
The Canon RF 24–240mm f/4–6.3 IS USM is a full-frame RF-mount travel zoom built for people who want one lens to handle wide scenes, portraits and distant details. Its unusually broad range minimizes lens changes, but its variable maximum aperture and all-in-one design are less suited to dark events or photographers demanding a specialist lens at every focal length.

Editorial buying guidance
Who this lens is most likely to serve well.
Best for
- Full-frame EOS R travel and family photography with minimal lens changes
- Outdoor sightseeing and general-purpose photography across a wide range
- Buyers who value one versatile zoom over constant f/2.8
Why it stands out
- The 24–240mm range spans substantially wider and longer framing than a normal kit zoom.
- Optical IS helps manage handheld camera shake, though it cannot freeze moving subjects.
- Native RF control and autofocus avoid adapter-specific complications.
Things to consider
- Maximum aperture narrows from f/4 to f/6.3 through the zoom range, reducing light flexibility at longer settings.
- This full-frame RF lens is different from smaller RF-S APS-C kit zooms.
- Inspect the included accessories and condition carefully on heavily used travel zooms.
Compatibility notes
Native Canon RF mount. It covers full-frame EOS R bodies and can also be used on RF-mount APS-C bodies with a cropped view; it is not an EF or EF-S lens.
Choosing a used condition
Inspect both ends of the zoom range for smooth movement and test autofocus and stabilization. Examine front and rear elements, mount contacts, filter threads, zoom creep and included caps or hood before selecting a used grade.
