The Sony 28mm f/2 FE is a full-frame wide-angle prime lens designed for the Sony E-mount system and is ideal for both still and movie photography. Designed with an Advanced Aspherical (AA) and two aspherical elements, the Sony 28mm f/2 minimizes reflections, ghosting and flares, giving sharp, high quality clear images. The lens design utilizes ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) glass resulting in high contrast, high-resolution images which highlight intricate details with reduced chromatic aberrations. The bright f/2 aperture allows you to work in poor or dimly lit environments to create smooth images without having to increase digital noise through higher ISO values. Smooth bokeh is created by the 9-blade aperture which is almost perfectly circular from its wide-open setting to when it is closed by 2 stops. The Sony 28mm features a quiet linear internal focusing motor, so only the middle groups of the lens move without changing the overall length of the lens. The linear motor provides smooth focus and rapid response. Focusing is nearly silent, which is important when recording video.
