Used buying analysis

Catalog mount: Sony E mount. Verify camera-model compatibility and the correct format coverage before purchasing. A similarly named optic for a different mount is not an equivalent offer. Confirm the advertised image-circle coverage with your exact camera; sharing a physical mount alone does not guarantee the expected full-sensor field of view.

The lowest currently listed KEH option is $684.00 in Excellent Plus condition. Compare this grade against the other copies below: paying more can be worthwhile when the condition, included accessories, and return terms justify it.

Compare the condition-price tradeoff: the lowest KEH listing is $684.00 (Excellent Plus), while another listed grade is $707.00 (Like New Minus)—a $23.00 difference. Check the retailer's actual cosmetic notes and included accessories before deciding whether the premium is justified.

Best for

  • Photographers using a compatible Sony E mount body who need portrait framing and selective details
  • Photographers who prefer a fixed 90mm perspective
  • Shoppers willing to compare 4 currently active used offers by condition and total cost

Why it stands out

  • Its fixed 90mm view favors photographers happy to compose by changing camera position rather than zooming.
  • The catalog currently records 4 active used listings, making differences in stated grade and included accessories worth checking.
  • Check the maximum aperture stated for this exact model against the light levels and shutter speeds you usually need; stabilization, where fitted, does not freeze moving subjects.

Things to consider

  • Confirm the exact Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS Full-Frame Autofocus Lens for E-Mount designation: similar focal lengths and apertures can belong to different mounts, generations or product lines.
  • Confirm the advertised image-circle coverage with your exact camera; sharing a physical mount alone does not guarantee the expected full-sensor field of view.
  • A prime cannot substitute for a zoom when you cannot change shooting distance, while a zoom can trade portability for flexibility.

Compatibility notes

Additional listing information

The Sony 90mm f/2.8 FE Macro G OSS is a high-quality medium telephoto macro lens built for the Sony E Mount system and delivers outstanding G Lens performance . The lens produces high-resolution full FE frame coverage with smooth bokeh that is pleasing to the eye.

With built-in optical image stabilization, the fast f/2.8 full-frame 90mm lens utilizes internal gyro sensors to eliminate the most minute of vibrations, resulting in clear hand-held images at up to 1:1 magnification, even in dim light. The aspherical lens design and Nano AR coating reduce spherical aberration while keeping the lens size and weight to a minimum.

The 9-blade circular aperture produces a creamy circular bokeh that G Lenses are celebrated for. The Sony 90mm features quiet internal focusing, so only the middle groups of the lens move without changing the overall length of the lens.

With a sliding focus ring, quickly swap from manual focus to autofocus without taking your eye off your subject and use the on-barrel focus hold to keep the lens locked at your focal distance; especially handy when doing macro work. A focus range limiter switch is also provided, with settings for 0.5m-0.28m, ∞-0.5m or the full range.

By shortening the focus range auto focus hunting time can be reduced so you get faster autofocus. Whether you are shooting movies or stills, the Sony 90mm f/2.8 FE Macro G OSS delivers exceptionally sharp edge-to-edge performance demanded by today's professionals.
