What to check before buying this used lens
This is a specification- and inventory-based buying assessment, not a hands-on optical test. It explains what the known focal range, mount and seller inventory can tell you, and what you should still verify directly with the seller.
Where it fits
The Tamron 28-300mm f/4-7.1 Di III VC VXD Full-Frame Lens is listed for the Sony E system with a Sony E mount. Its practical starting role is wildlife, action and distant subjects. The catalog records Full Frame sensor coverage; verify your camera model and any crop-mode implications.
Trade-offs that matter
Its 28–300mm zoom range offers framing flexibility, but compare its wide and long ends with the subjects you photograph most. The catalog lists a maximum aperture of f/4-7.1; check its behavior across the zoom range where relevant.
Used condition versus price
There are 2 KEH catalog offers to compare. A lower listed price does not establish better value when condition grades or included accessories differ. Inspect glass clarity, focus and zoom movement, mounting contacts, stabilization if applicable, and included caps or hood. Use the used-lens inspection checklist →
